STEP 4 — Decide
Use lipid results to update 10-year ASCVD risk (Pooled Cohort Equations) and decide on lipid-lowering therapy per obesity guideline section 5.3: if intermediate/high risk with risk-enhancing factors, consider statin; if triglycerides >=500 mg/dL, address pancreatitis risk. Otherwise, continue current therapy and repeat lipid panel periodically when weight stable.
