laser-design

Orchestrate new laser-fabrication designs, uploaded artwork, design modifications, and fabrication briefs into explicit design.yaml manifests and dimensioned source geometry. Use for end-to-end laser project requests, including text panels, boxes, signs, jigs, imported art, and mixed cut/engrave work.

# Laser design 1. Read [references/intake.md](references/intake.md). 2. Inspect supplied files before asking for facts already present in metadata. 3. Resolve geometry-changing ambiguity in a compact round of one to three grouped questions. 4. Create nominal geometry and `design.yaml`; keep compensation separate. 5. Label incomplete process data `not-production-ready`. Never invent a machine, material, recipe, fit measurement, or engraving depth. 6. Run `scripts/laser-design build JOB_DIR`, then `scripts/laser-design preflight JOB_DIR` after every geometry or material change. 7. Route tracing to `$laser-vector`, calibration gaps to `$laser-calibrate`, and machine handoff to `$lightburn-job` only after `$laser-preflight` succeeds. For geometry outside lightweight 2D primitives, use an installed CAD/DXF skill if available, export ordinary DXF, and return to preflight.
