Dimensions

• Influence — how much power they hold over the program
• Interest — how much they care about the outcome
• Stance — champion, supporter, neutral, sceptic, blocker
• Currency — what they value (speed, certainty, credit, risk reduction)

Method

1. List everyone who can accelerate or block the work
2. Place each on influence x interest
3. Note their stance and what would move it
4. Set a cadence per quadrant (high/high: close partnership; high/low: keep satisfied)
5. Identify who can influence the blockers

• Stances shift — re-map at major milestones
• Win sceptics with their currency, not yours
• Never surprise a high-influence stakeholder in public
