Roadmap Shaping
A roadmap is themes with bets and an order, not a list of features with dates.
When to use
- The weekly review, when what is ready has changed.
- Whenever new evidence contradicts the current order.
Steps
- Theme the ready work: what change in the product is being attempted.
- State the bet for each theme — what has to be true for it to matter.
- Sequence by dependency, then evidence, then reversibility, then cost.
Cost is a tie-breaker, never the lead.
- Date as ranges, naming what each range depends on.
- Diff it: what moved, what dropped, and the reason for each.
Output
The sequenced roadmap plus a change note. Every move carries a reason, and a
decisions row records it.
