The BM32CX is a built-in convection microwave operated primarily through a single rotary dial whose function changes depending on the active mode. In standby, turning the dial has no effect; the dial activates once a mode is selected. Pressing MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. once enters microwave mode at P100 — subsequent presses or dial turns cycle through power levels, then grill, combination, and convection modes in sequence. START/+30SEC./CONFIRM serves double duty as a confirm key (locking in a selected parameter) and as an execute key (starting the operation). The display shows the current mode or power level, then switches to time once a start command is issued. The oven will not run without food inside; doing so is documented as dangerous.

Quick Start

Speedy cooking

Invoke: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM in standby. Parameters: None required. Each press adds 30 seconds, up to a maximum of 95 minutes. Execute: First press starts cooking immediately at P100. Returns: Buzzer sounds at completion; display returns to standby. Edge cases: Speedy cooking can be set as stage 1 of a multi-stage sequence.

Setting microwave power and time

Invoke: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. once; P100 displays. Parameters: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. again or turn dial to select power level (P100/P80/P50/P30/P10). Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to confirm power. Turn dial to set cooking time (0:05–95:00). Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Time counts down; buzzer sounds at completion.

Defrost

Defrost by weight (dEF1)

Invoke: Press WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST once; dEF1 displays. Parameters: Turn dial to select food weight (100–2000 g); the g indicator lights. Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Oven defrosts at fixed P30 power (cannot be changed). Buzzer sounds at completion. Edge cases: Items 200 g or under must be placed at the edge of the turntable, not the centre.

Defrost by time (dEF2)

Invoke: Press WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST twice; dEF2 displays. Parameters: Turn dial to select defrost time (maximum 95 minutes). Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Oven defrosts at fixed P30 power. Buzzer sounds at completion. Edge cases: As with dEF1, items 200 g or under go at the turntable edge.

Grill

Invoke: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. and turn dial until the grill mode indicator displays (scrolls past the microwave power levels). Parameters: Turn dial to set cooking time (0:05–95:00). Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to confirm. Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Buzzer sounds at completion. Edge cases: For auto menu items that use grill (Toast: A8, Pizza: A10), the manual specifies use of the 95 mm height rack.

Convection

With preheating

Invoke: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. and turn dial until a convection temperature (140–230°C) displays. Parameters: Turn dial to select temperature. Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to confirm. Execute: Oven preheats. When target temperature is reached, the buzzer sounds twice — open the door and place food inside. Parameters (time): Turn dial to set cooking time (maximum 95 minutes). Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to start. Returns: Buzzer sounds at completion. Edge cases: If no cooking time is entered within 5 minutes of reaching temperature, the oven stops preheating, sounds five beeps, and returns to standby. The Cake auto menu (A9) uses convection at 180°C with preheating.

Without preheating

Invoke: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. and turn dial until a convection temperature displays. Parameters: Turn dial to select temperature (140–230°C). Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to confirm temperature. Turn dial to set cooking time (maximum 95 minutes). Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Buzzer sounds at completion.

Combination Cooking

Invoke: Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. once (P100 displays), then press again or turn dial until C-1, C-2, C-3, or C-4 displays. Multi-Stage Cooking

The oven supports a maximum of two cooking stages. If one stage is defrost, it must be stage 1.

Two-stage example (dEF2 for 5 min, then microwave at P80 for 7 min)

1. Press WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST twice → dEF2 displays.
2. Turn dial to select 5 minutes defrost time.
3. Press MICROWAVE/GRILL/COMBI./CONVE. once → P100 displays.
4. Turn dial to select P80.
5. Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to confirm power.
6. Turn dial to select 7 minutes.
7. Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM to start both stages.

The buzzer sounds once between stages. Auto menu and preheating cannot be used as stages.

Child Lock

Invoke: Hold STOP/CLEAR for 3 seconds. Returns: Audible confirmation. All key input is disabled. Repeat to deactivate.

Clock

Invoke: Press KITCHEN TIMER/CLOCK twice in standby; 00:00 displays and hour digits flash. Parameters: Turn dial to set hours (0–23). Press KITCHEN TIMER/CLOCK — minute digits flash. Turn dial to set minutes (0–59). Execute: Press KITCHEN TIMER/CLOCK to confirm. Edge cases: Pressing STOP/CLEAR during setup exits without saving.

Kitchen Timer

Invoke: Press KITCHEN TIMER/CLOCK once in standby; 00:00 displays. Parameters: Turn dial to set time (maximum 95 minutes). Execute: Press START/+30SEC./CONFIRM. Returns: Buzzer sounds at completion. No cooking occurs during kitchen timer. Edge cases: No cooking program can be entered while the kitchen timer is running.

Error States

• Five beeps, returns to standby: Preheating timed out — no cooking time was entered within 5 minutes of reaching convection temperature.
• Any unsaved setting: Settings not confirmed within 5 minutes are discarded and the oven returns to standby.
• Do not operate empty: Running the oven with no food inside is documented as dangerous.
