Reflect on the current conversation — analyze mistakes, missed opportunities, and plan improvements for future conversations.
## Self-Reflection Pause and reflect honestly on this conversation. Analyze the following dimensions, skipping any that don't apply: ### 1. Mistakes & Missteps - What did I get wrong? (incorrect code, wrong assumptions, misunderstood intent) - Where did I waste time or take unnecessary detours? - Did I misread what the user wanted and go down the wrong path? ### 2. Missed Opportunities - Were there moments I could have been more helpful but wasn't? - Did I over-explain when the user wanted brevity, or under-explain when they wanted depth? - Could I have used tools more effectively (parallel calls, better search strategies)? - Did I miss chances to teach or to learn from the user? ### 3. What Went Well - What approaches worked and should be repeated? - Where did the collaboration flow smoothly? ### 4. Lessons for Future Conversations Based on the above, list 2-5 concrete, actionable takeaways. Frame each as: - **Pattern**: what happened - **Lesson**: what to do differently next time ### 5. Memory Check Are there any lessons from this reflection worth saving to memory (feedback-type memories) so they persist across conversations? If so, propose them — but do NOT save them automatically. Ask the user first. ### Guidelines - Be genuinely self-critical, not performatively humble - Focus on things that actually affected the conversation outcome, not hypothetical issues - If the conversation went well, say so briefly and focus on what made it work - Keep the total reflection concise — aim for quality of insight over quantity of words
