Social Content
Create content that fits each platform's format, culture, and algorithm — not generic text forced into every channel.
When to Use
- "Write a LinkedIn post about..."
- "Turn this into a Twitter thread"
- "Caption for this photo/video: ..."
- "I need content for the next week on [topic]"
- "Repurpose this article/podcast into social posts"
Platform Formats
LinkedIn
- Hook line — first 2 lines before "...more" must stop the scroll
- Short paragraphs (1–3 lines), white space is engagement
- Personal narrative > corporate announcement
- End with a question or clear opinion to drive comments
- 1,300 characters sweet spot; avoid external links in body
Twitter / X
- Single tweet: one sharp insight, < 280 chars
- Thread: hook tweet → numbered points → strong closing CTA
- Use line breaks, not walls of text
- Quote tweet your own thread opener in the last post
- Hooks that work: contrarian takes, "I learned X the hard way", specific numbers
Instagram
- Caption supports the visual — don't describe what they can see
- First sentence is the hook (shown before "more")
- Hashtags: 5–10 niche > 30 generic
- CTA in caption: save, share, comment your answer
- Carousel posts: slide 1 = hook, middle = value, last = CTA
TikTok / Reels (script)
- Hook in first 2 seconds (spoken or text overlay)
- Value delivered fast — no long intros
- Pattern interrupt every 5–7 seconds
- End with a hook for the next video or a direct question
Content Types
| Type | Purpose |
|---|
| Insight post | Share a lesson, observation, or data point |
| Story post | Personal narrative with a professional takeaway |
| List post | "5 things I wish I knew about X" |
| Contrarian take | Challenge a common assumption with evidence |
| Behind the scenes | Process, workflow, real numbers |
| Repurpose | Blog → thread, podcast → quote cards, report → carousel |
